We’re super excited about Helsinki-based Piiti Blomqvist’s new Small Show starting this Thursday. Her art deals with concepts of good and evil and the juxtaposition of them, exploring the themes by blending the purity of animals with human vices. Another reoccurring theme in her work is girlhood; the trauma, the beauty, and the fun of it.
“I explore complex and sometimes difficult emotions by romanticizing and using irony as a tool to make them easier to deal with – for the viewer too, I hope.”
Piiti’s work has been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions in Galleria Uusi Kipinä, Kosminen, Bar9, Round Helsinki and more. You can also spot at restaurants such as Madonna, Holiday and Yes Yes Yes.
